Zach laughed as he tried get to the football. This task was made next to impossible though due to Ruby being on his back and Daniel having wrapped his arms and legs around his Dads right leg, practically sitting on his foot. "Let me go..." he called, making his children laugh loudly as they clung tighter still to their Dad. "No Daniel don't let him go!" squealed Ruby, making Daniel sigh dramatically before giggling as Zach stepped forward again, in turn swinging Daniel forward. "Wren I'm being attacked out here!" he called out towards their new house.
They were still settling in to their new, but much larger house. It was perfect in Zach's opinion, not just in size but the garden around the house was huge, not to mention there was quite a bit of space between here and their neighbors. Plus there was a small place for Wren to grow her herbs and such and his wife had appeared incredibly happy about that. The space was needed with the twins due date upon them, it was terrifying, their family becoming that much more bigger but Zach couldn't wait. Sure the girls now out counted him and Daniel, so Zach was that much more confident he was going to go grey a lot earlier than most.
As he kicked the ball, Zach reached around scooping Ruby into his arm, and reached down to grab Daniel before dropping to the floor. Tickling both his children he fell back, laying in the grass out of breath as they both squealed, jumped up and ran towards the ball. "That's it, Daddy needs his rest..." he said, trying to catch his breath as he continued laying back in the grass. As a shadow fell over him he looked up, a grin on his face, "Hey there beautiful come to my rescue?" he asked as he looked up at....

Things were going perfectly it seemed, their growing family was settling into a larger home, and she was getting ever closer to her due date. Wren felt more than dramatically pregnant, she had never thought her belly capable of getting so big, though she was carrying around twice as much baby as she ever had before. Though she was content for the most part, she had a real garden now, complete with a special area for her herbs, and thus far not a horklump or a gnome in sight. Of course, their charming Victorian-era home had been a muggle residence for quite a while, it would only be a matter of time before the magical things started gravitating toward the property.
The kids seemed to love it, too. Ruby gushed about how much she loved her room all the time, the toddler had insisted that everything be a vibrant shade of pink, there was no questioning that it belonged to a little girl. And her quiet, shy little Daniel loved the nooks and crannies of the old house, spending hours to explore them. Wren herself had found her favourite spot, that being the room at the top of the house's turret. A circular room with a large bay window with enough room on the sill for her heavily pregnant body to lie down on. Once they had unpacked all the way, she wanted to turn it into a reading room of sorts.
Wren stepped outside, barefoot of course, and grinning at the sunshine, spring was her favourite time of year. She chuckled lightly at the sight of her husband playing with the children, it really was adorable. Were she not so laden with child she'd be out there with them, though presently it took her a long time to waddle from place to place, she doubted she could run, not that she trusted herself to. The shift in her centre of balance made her terribly clumsy. "Of course," Wren chuckled, looking down at her husband lying in the grass, "but you'll have to get yourself up, I'm afraid."

Zach chuckled as he looked up at his heavily pregnant but still stunningly beautiful wife. Wren was the kind of woman that suited being pregnant, she had a natural glow about her all the time but especially when she was pregnant. Sometimes he had to stop and just look at her, wondering how in the world someone like him became so lucky. Lucky enough that she'd want him as well, and not only that but give him not one or two, but four beautiful children. Yes, he had to be the luckiest man alive.
"Of course, but you'll have to get yourself up, I'm afraid."
Sighing dramatically Zach sat himself up and pushed himself into a standing position, watching the kids for a moment before turning to face Wren and smiling. "Hey pretty lady..." he said, leaning forward, a hand on her waist as he pressed a kiss to her lips as a way of greeting before crouching down to place not one, but two kisses onto her rounded stomach. One for each of the girls. Looking up at Wren he grinned, his hand on her stomach, "How are they today then?" he asked, pressing another kiss to her stomach before standing.
Moving around he positioned himself beside her and wrapped his arms around her waist, taking her dainty hands into his own and finally bringing them to rest over her stomach. He pressed a loving kiss to the top of her head before allowing his chin to rest on her shoulder, able to watch the children from this angle as well. They had wards up around the property but call him a bit cautious, he didn't want them out of his sight. "I think we're gonna be really happy here." he said after a few moments.

Wren continued to grin down at Zach, she couldn't have imagined having a better husband and father to her two, soon to be four, children. Some might say that they had started a family too young, but Wren didn't see that, she just saw them as having enough energy to keep up with a three-year-old and a two-year-old. Sure, they'd be exhausted when two infants were thrown into the mix, but it wasn't anything that they couldn't handle. And at any rate, their ages made it a possibility to get down on the floor or the lawn to play with the children.
Wren watched as her husband got up, immediately smiling as he tucked her under his arm and kissing her lips before immediately bending to kiss her stomach twice. It was an adorable habit he had developed, one for each girl. There was going to be a whole lot of estrogen in the house before too long... "Restless, can't you feel them?" said Wren, still smiling a bit. Neither Poppy nor Lucy had been still all day, and she'd been unable to get comfortable herself, she'd been having contractions on and off, but even with her experience having babies she couldn't tell if they were false or not.
She sighed contentedly, smiling as Zach put his arms around her, nestling his head on her shoulder. She watched the children, who had continued their football game without their father, giggling as they played a version of the game without any conceivable rules. Yes, it had been difficult for a while, them being so close in age, but already Wren could see how rewarding it was, they played together nicely. "I think so too," said Wren, looking fondly over the property, "reminds me of where I grew up."

"Restless, can't you feel them?"
No sooner had his wife said that did Zach feel one of the twins move and he laughed as he stood, embracing her from behind. They certainly were an active pair and he had to wonder how his wife managed to carry them both, it had to be exhausting carrying just one, let alone two. Though if there was anybody that could do it, it was the beautiful woman he now held in his arms. She was born to be a Mother. "Any reason for us to worry?" he asked her, with the twins being as active as they were he thought maybe they were getting ready to make an appearance, after all they were due.
He already had a plan in place for the arrival, it had been in place since he found out, but in the recent month he'd felt an obligation just to check it was okay each day, just so if something was off he'd have time to alter. Of course Katherine would be having the children for them, despite not living as close to her anymore that plan was still in place and all he had to do was floo the children through to her, so they needn't worry about it. They had Wren's bag ready to go, so they were pretty much only waiting for the inevitable arrival of their baby girls.
"I think so too...reminds me of where I grew up."
Zach smiled and dropped a kiss on to her shoulder as he looked over the property again. They really had hit lucky with this place, and he knew instantly it had been the place for them. The space, just the overall feel of the house, the land. It was perfect and hew just knew they'd be more happy here than their previous home. "Well I'm glad we found it, it'll be perfect for the children." he said with a small smile as he watched the two of them struggle for the ball, their laughter echoing through the air. "It's almost like we can live in our own little world here, away from all that bad stuff..." he commented, sighing softly.

Wren couldn't help but smile as she leaned into Zach, knowing that he would easily support her weight plus that of his twin daughters. She took every opportunity she could get to cuddle into him, loving any contact that she could get with her husband. He by that point had probably grown accustomed to her need for physical interaction, it was almost as if Wren couldn't stand to be in the same room as him and not touching him in some manner, and this effect seemed to be only magnified when she was pregnant. Regardless of whether or not she was in danger, she sought his protection more those times.
Wren pulled an expression of thought, honestly, she didn't know. She hadn't experienced a contraction-like sensation in nearly an hour, so she figured that perhaps it might have passed, the ones she had had earlier were probably false... Her due date was still a little more than two weeks off, though she had a bit of a reputation for having her babies early, Ruby a week and a half before her due date, and Daniel had come two weeks early. "I'm not sure yet," said Wren, sounding offhand rather than concerned like some other expectant mothers might be.
She had done this twice before, granted, never with twins, but she wasn't concerned. It wouldn't be all that different, just multiplied by two was all. "It will," said Wren, smiling, envisioning one day having a mini-farm of sorts. Chickens, a dairy cow, and perhaps even a horse or two. The land they had could definitely support it. Wren had been about to respond to Zach's second comment when a pain shot through her abdomen, tightening until she thought she would snap, but loosening after a moment. It ended quickly, but it didn't stop her from putting her hands on her belly and taking a few deep breaths.

Zach smiled at Wren, loving how at ease his wife seemed about this whole thing. Most women were precise and worrying constantly over their child's approaching birth...Wren, not so much, his wife simply took everything with incredible ease and calm. Again, how in the world had he gotten so lucky as to get someone like her. She was leaning back into him and he easily supported her weight, it almost feeling like the most natural thing in the world to him. Wren had always been a physical person, and there were no complaints coming from him, he liked that she looked to him for that kind of support and protection. He loved touching her, holding her, even in small quiet moments like this.
As she smiled he let his chin come to rest on her shoulder once more, though no sooner had he done that then he felt his wife tense up. The practiced Father was instantly alert as he rounded to his wife's side, his arms still around her, supporting her though now at a better angle to look at her properly. "Wren...?" he said her name, his eyes flickering to the hands she now had pressed over her stomach, before raising enough to watch as she took in a few deep breaths. Having seen this twice before he knew instantly what was happening, but now....wasn't it still too early for them?
"Contractions? Are these your first?"' he asked, his mind already racing as he began to sort through everything he'd need to do. The bags were ready, the children could be flooed to Katherine's. He rubbed a practiced hand over her lower back, applying just the smallest amount of pressure as he looked at her, his hand coming to rest over one of her own. "Do we need to be getting ready for an early showing?" he asked, smiling at her, the excitement that this may be happening shining brightly in his eyes.

Wren smiled softly as her husband immediately shifted positions after she had tensed, he was still supporting her, but from a different angle. She couldn't get anything past him, he was much too alert for that. She blamed his training from being a Hit Wizard, he needed to pick up on the smallest of things in order to stay safe. That was a skill that couldn't be "turned off," he would have it always. When Zach said her name she only smiled up at him, feeling right as rain once more, instead of going into a nervous tizzy. She knew how this worked, having had enough experience under her belt.
Wren had already had her turn freaking out when she had gone into labour with Ruby, she hadn't known what to expect that time around. But she was a seasoned veteran when it came to childbirth, she didn't really view it as a big deal anymore. She shook her head at his question, no, it wasn't the first. "I've been having them on and off today, they haven't been regular, though," said Wren, but that was the first one that had felt like the real deal, the others had been much weaker, that one had been much more insistent, like it meant business.
She absently rubbed her stomach, she could feel Poppy and Lucy moving around in there, perhaps they were trying to tell her that they were ready. Wren felt a bit of excitement, it had been so long, she wanted to see her daughters, but she remained calm. She needed to keep her composure, a collected mother made for an easier experience. No stress for her. "Maybe," said Wren vaguely, "might be a bit too early to tell, though. We'll have to see how it goes."

So it had been a contraction and she'd been having them all day. Zach sighed and nodded his head, glancing down at her stomach where both their hands lay. They both knew how long this could take and after Ruby he'd learnt not to freak out and just take things easy. He'd been close to passing out when Wren had gone into labor with their first daughter, but the second time around had been easier. Though he didn't doubt it'd be a little more stressful not for him but for her this time around since there were two of them coming at once but if anybody could handle this situation it was his wife. After all she was the strongest woman he knew, yes, she'd be fine and so would their daughters.
One of his daughters bumped against his hand and Zach chuckled before looking back up at his wife, leaning in to kiss her cheek softly. "Well you my lady should be sat down, taking it easy...." he said, taking one of her hands but keeping his arm around her back as he steered her to the small swing he'd set up outside for them. Sitting her down on the seat he quickly moved to sit next to her, his arm around the back of the seat, whilst his other remained holding her hand. "Just tell me when..." he told her, lifting her hand to lightly kiss her knuckles.
He really couldn't wait to meet his daughters now, it had felt like forever since they'd found out she was pregnant and he was growing impatient to finally meet them. Though he knew his wife was feeling the exact same thing, no matter how composed she remained he could still see the excitement shining brightly in her eyes. "Hey you two back over here...don't make me tie you up!" he called out to his children, his tone serious but the look in his eyes giving it away that he was teasing as his kids turned back around and began chasing the ball back into the center of the yard, closer to their parents.

Wren smiled, still absently holding her stomach, a little foot nudged at one of her hands, probably Poppy's, as it was her left hand and that was where she had known her daughter's foot to be last. Unlike with Ruby and Daniel, there wasn't enough room for both the girls to move around and change positions, they'd been in the same spot for a good long while. It was different to say the least, not feeling quite as much movement in spite of having twice as much child, though the healer had told her that their tiny kicks and punches landed more on each other than where she could feel it.
Fighting already, Wren would say, shaking her head with a soft smile. "Oh hush, all anyone ever tells me to do is sit down," said Wren, winking lightly, though she still allowed herself to be directed over to the porch swing. Though if she went into active labour she'd be hurriedly back on her feet, gravity helped with the process. "Even Ruby's catching on, just the other day when I was unpacking she told me to go sit down," said Wren, smiling a bit at the memory. Her daughter was a fearless thing, never stopped talking, and very much liked to give orders.
She was a bright, precocious child, reminding her a lot of herself when she was little. Even the not thinking before speaking, it had taken Wren a long while to develop that particular trait. She chuckled as Zach called the children closer, playfully threatening to tie them up. Wren nestled into her husband, laying her head on his shoulder, taking in his unique scent, it always comforted her. Even to the point where when he went on overnight missions she would have to put one of his shirts on her pillow so she could sleep.

Zach looked at his wife and nodded his head, "Yes well you should be...that's all I'm saying..." he held his hands up in defense not wanting to get told off for telling her she needed to be taking it easy. They had two children already it wasn't something easily done for Wren, but then again with Ruby she hadn't taken it easy that much, his wife was a stubborn one that was for sure, mainly part of the reason he loved her so much. Lucky for him he had the next few weeks off work with their daughters impending arrival so he could look after her the way she deserved to be looked after, he'd be quite content if she sat there with her feet up all day but knowing Wren she wouldn't do that.
"Even Ruby's catching on, just the other day when I was unpacking she told me to go sit down,"
Zach chuckled and nodded, indeed that sounded like his outspoken daughter and he looked across at her fondly as she played with her brother. "That's my girl...bet you didn't go sit down though did you..." he commented looking over at his wife knowingly before his arm that had once draped along the back of the porch swing, moved to wrap around her shoulders as she lay her head on his own. Zach smiled softly and pressed a kiss to the top of her head, inhaling the sweet scent of her hair for a moment, finding himself smiling as he so often did when he held her like this.
It was insane just how much being with her now still felt like it had in the beginning. Growing up he'd worried these feelings would fade slightly as they settled into a comfortable pattern, but they didn't. If anything he felt stronger about her every day, like now, watching her carry their unborn children was incredible and he felt his love for his wife sky rocket all the more. She was carrying his children, had already given him two and had chosen him out of every guy she could have had to spend her life with, seriously how had he gotten so lucky?

Wren playfully rolled her eyes, her husband of all people should know that there was only so much rest she could handle. She had an innate need to be productive, she needed to do, make, accomplish. Sure, a day here and there of lazing around without doing anything was fantastic, but on a whole she felt the need to do something. This trait didn't even quiet when she was pregnant, if not it only intensified when she reached her nesting phase. "You're sounding like the healers," Wren said, her tone carrying a false grumpiness as she pouted. It seemed that nobody missed an opportunity to preach to her about resting.
True, she didn't have quite her normal amount of stamina, especially these days as her daughters had grown heavy, but that didn't mean she had to sit around all day with her feet up, even though Zach was home from work on paternity leave. But Wren still kept up with the housework and played with the children, she was even doing a fair amount of gardening. She looked over as she heard the sound of nails clicking on the porch, the dog had decided to join them. Without being invited, Penny hoped up, nestling against Wren's leg. The small spaniel was, arguably, her dog. She was sweet and affectionate with everyone, but she had seemed to pick Wren as her favourite.
Wren absently pet her silky coat, smiling. Their animals seemed to enjoy the new house as much as the humans of the family. The cat kept bringing in his hunting finds from the field, the same with the owl, and Penny loved poking around the property. She had also let the rabbits outside a time or two, they really ought to make a pen for them in the yard... "Oh, I did for a little," said Wren, "the high ruler of the house decided two minutes was ample rest time."

Zach smirked slightly at Wren, playfully tapping her nose and running his finger over her bottom lip as she pouted, "They know what their talking about beautiful girl..." he said leaning in to kiss her before pulling back and smiling, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear. Kissing her nose again he inclined his head to the side to look at the children, always wanting them in his line of sight. Maybe lately he'd gotten a little bit more intense on keeping them safe.
His hand gently moved over the back of her shoulder, his thumb making soothing circular motions as he absentmindedly massaged her. As the dog, who obviously favored his beautiful wife joined them on the swing, Zach resisted the urge to roll his eyes at the spanial. Of course he had a soft spot for the dog, but he would've preferred a larger dog, though with the kids and now the twins on the way getting anything too big was out the question. All he'd do is worry about it being around the children, after all a lot of dogs didn't have the right amount of patience for the little ones.
"Well remind me to spoil the leader of this house later, least I know your being taken care of if I'm not here..." he joked, chuckling slightly. Though his attention quickly snapped to the side when Daniel tripped over the ball, falling against the grass harder than Zach liked. He tried not to fuss over the children too much, for small tumbles and such but when he saw his sons face he was up. Pausing he pointed to Wren, "I'll take care of him..." he said, effectively telling her to stay put as he jogged over to Daniel and crouched down beside his son. Daniels little eyes watered as he held his hand up to his Dad, and helping him to stand Zach placed a kiss on the palm of his hands, "All better little man I think you did more harm to the ground..." he joked, smiling as Daniel laughed lightly before hugging his Dad and at the insistance of Ruby, running off with his sister. Sighing Zach went and sat back down beside Wren, "It's scary how bossy she is...kind of reminds me of someone..." he teased, taking a side glance at his wife and chuckling.

Wren lightly rolled her eyes, she was not much a resting sort of person, not feeling the need to laze around simply because she was pregnant, but rather only get off her feet when she was feeling tired. Expectant mother or not, she was still a mother to two toddlers, she couldn't just spend all her time with her feet up. Ruby and Daniel might not need the same attention that infants needed, but they required a good amount all the same. Thankfully they didn't seem to argue much, though she couldn't help but think it was merely because of how pacifistic her son was, he was a timid young man, and seemed content to let Ruby do as she pleased.
She wasn't sure whether or not this was wrong, but Wren wished that Daniel would stand up to his sister from time to time, instead of simply letting her rule the roost. But she wouldn't encourage any fighting, it was nice, after all, for things to be peaceful in the house. It made her life just a teeny bit easier. But Ruby would probably be in for a rude awakening in the near future when she discovered that not all her peers would want to do things her way. Wren moved to stand when Daniel took a tumble, but Zach beat her to it, he didn't have two unborn children slowing him down like she did.
Wren watched, smiling lightly as her husband tended to Daniel, who was obviously fine, he'd probably just frightened himself was all. Before he came back, she felt another contraction coming on, she breathed her way through it like the last one, though felt a tinge of excitement. Maybe they'd have two more children by the time the day was out. Of course, that was ridiculously hopeful thinking, but she couldn't help it. "You scum," said Wren, pretending to be offended by her husband's comment as she playfully hit him on the arm- though she smiled guiltily all the same, "she should mellow out as she gets older, in theory anyway."

Zach narrowed his eyes as he closed in on his wife, noticing the change in posture. As he sat down, she playfully hit him on his arm, and he flinched, pretending that it did in fact hurt him as he held his arm. "Oh, violence...woman!" he said, looking affronted before winking at her playfully and chuckling lightly. "Mellow out...somehow I doubt it, in fact I have a feeling she'll become more bossy..." he said, making a show of shuffling away from her on the bench, putting some safe distance between them before he smiled, his hand going to rest on her knee as he moved back towards her, sighing as he did so.
"You know I joke," he told her, winking at her before looking towards the children for a few moments, his eyes following Daniel. "So another contraction...they seem pretty close to me," he commented, looking across at her, wondering when they'd need to get ready and head out. The last thing he wanted was for them to leave it to the last minute, that's usually the time he'd begin to panic. Yes, he panicked, even being a pro at this now, he still had his moments, moments were it felt like this was their first time all over again. "You tell me when your ready yeah? Katherine's all ready for the kids..." he told her, squeezing her knee affectionately.
